Good to know
- Pets 50 lbs or less. This is the current size limit for the van.
- Shaving is a last resort. Fur helps regulate temperature and protects skin. I shave mainly when matting leaves no other option, and we will talk it through first.
- Cancellation and rescheduling. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Changes with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged 50% of the scheduled service estimate, and same-day cancellations and no-shows up to 100%. Genuine emergencies are considered one at a time.
- Late arrivals and no-shows. If you are more than 15 minutes late, or no one is available to hand off your pet or give safe access, the visit may be shortened, rescheduled or treated as a no-show. Same-day cancellations and no-shows may be charged up to 100%.
- Deposit. A $50 booking deposit may be requested for new clients, longer visits, multi-pet households and busy dates. It is credited toward your completed visit.
- Payment methods. Payment is due right after the groom. You can keep a card on file with my secure payment provider, and tips are always optional. Personal checks are not accepted unless approved in advance.
- Matting. Mats can be uncomfortable for your pet and take extra time to work through. Regular grooming helps prevent them. I do not do long or painful dematting. If your pet is matted, I may clip the coat shorter for their comfort and safety, and I will check with you first about a big change whenever I can. Extra coat-condition charges may apply.
- Anxious or aggressive pets. Please tell me about any nerves or past incidents when you book so I can plan a calm visit. I use calm, humane handling and safety equipment when it is needed, and I never force a pet through a groom just for looks. An extra handling or extended-time fee may apply, and I will tell you before checkout. I do not give sedatives, so pets who need medical sedation are best groomed at a vet.
- Fleas and ticks. Please tell me before I arrive if you know or suspect fleas or ticks. If I find them, I may adjust or stop the visit to protect my van and other pets. With your OK, I can do a flea bath and remove visible ticks, which may add product and time charges. Grooming does not replace vet parasite treatment.
- Senior pets and medical conditions. Please tell me about age-related needs or medical conditions when you book. I am a groomer, not a vet, so please see your veterinarian for anything medical. Senior pets get a comfort-first groom, with breaks, gentler handling and sometimes a simpler haircut. I may ask for a vet's OK first.
- Emergency and veterinary authorization. If I think your pet needs urgent vet care, I will call you or your emergency contact first. If I cannot reach either of you quickly, I will take your pet to your regular vet or the nearest vet. Vet costs are the client's responsibility, and you can set a maximum amount in advance.
- Weather. Visits may be delayed, shortened or rescheduled for severe weather, ice, flooding, extreme heat or road closures. You are never charged when I cancel.
- Travel. Visits outside my main route may carry a travel fee, which I will tell you about before you confirm. Parking charges or permits may be added if they apply.
- Preparing for my arrival. Please have a safe, legal, fairly level parking spot with room for the van and a safe path for handing off your pet. Keep dogs leashed and cats in a carrier or closed room. An adult should be available unless we arranged another way ahead of time, and please keep your phone nearby. If I ask for outlet access when you book, please have it ready.
